The PEAK 2024 protocol is online

This document describes appropriate measurement methods for determining peak sound levels of various sound sources during loading and unloading. Peak levels in general and these measurement methods are specifically intended for product certification during loading and unloading at retailers or in stores. They are not intended for other purposes, such as reducing normal road traffic noise. The measurement methods provide peak sound levels of single sources under controlled conditions at a distance of 7.5 meters from the source.
The measurement methods are designed to provide representative and reproducible results, which are as close as possible to practical conditions. The methods are designed so that noise reduction measures are clearly expressed in the measurement results.
Peak certification values can be used to determine whether the product in question will meet the required noise emission limits in most practical situations and provide local authorities with a tool to assess the potential of a Peak‑certified product or QuietTRUCK vehicle against environmental objectives. In addition, measurement methods are used to compare the maximum noise emissions of products with each other.
